I am a pensioner with a low income...I used to receive the Warm Home Discount when I was with EOn but moved house last year into rented accommodation and now have both gas & electricity supplied by British Gas using prepayment keys.
I just assumed the WHD would automatically be paid, but it didn't arrive.
I tried to apply online to BG but I don't know what the account numbers are for the prepayment keys... I didn't set up the account and I don't know what to do next. I want to apply online as I am deaf so cannot use the phone.
This was taken from this link.

You qualify for the discount if on 8 July 2018 all of the following applied:
This is known as being in the ‘core group’.
    How to apply

You’ll receive a letter by 7 December 2018 telling you how to get the discount if you qualify.
Your letter will say if you need to call a helpline by 28 February 2019 to confirm your details.
Your electricity supplier will apply the discount to your bill by the end of March 2019.

I you didn't qualify on that date then you'll need to apply through low income.
  • The refund is yours no matter whether you change suppliers after it’s been paid to your account.
Be happy, it's the greatest wealth :)
