Can I pay DVLA tax with a cheque from someone else?

Hi,

My partner needs to send D1 form to DVLA to convert his driving licence. He needs to enclose £43 with a cheque or postal order. He doesn't have a chequebook. Can I use my cheque or it must be signed by the same person doing the paperwork?

you can use a friends cheque , like you I have no cheque book and have done this when applying for v5s
