When I'm eventually changed from wtc to UTC
Does this mean more Atos medicals
Currently on pip until 2021 and wtc's
As I understand it I'm in uc area though could be one of the last to be switched to UC

It's my understanding that you would have to go through the work capability assessment in order to claim the UC equivalent of disabled tax credits. I don't think anyone knows yet what, if any, transitional protection there'll be for people being moved across. It's a loooong way off though so try not to worry.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Amazing Answer Ames, thanks for your dedicated time in answering.
Yes I think it's possibly towards 2023 or later befofre UTC transition.
I'm getting support from employers inlcuding next week when H&S Manager has agreed to visit my workplace. To disucuss suitable desk location (in addition to lumba support chair which I've been using since 2017)
As my latest pip is for a few years, I thought maybe I would get auto switched to uc-though sound like that's not the case.

I'm not sure what you mean by this? If you're already on tax credits, as long as you don't have any other changes (a new housing benefit claim, for instance) then you'll stay on them. If you're not on tax credits, if you're in a full service area than you'd have to claim UC instead of tax credits.

The managed migration to UC hasn't started yet, as far as I'm aware the rules haven't even been published, so it's nothing to worry about yet.

I thought the Managed migration was going to be from 2019-2023.
My mistake then as I thought when my area went UC last year then the Managed micgration from wtc to UK would begin from 2019.
Not to worry than in theory I won't know until Managed migration begins which type of medical I'll go through.
    Thanks again Ames much appreciated.

It is supposed to be from 2019 to 2023. The chances of it actually starting next year are, let's say, very slim.

What do you mean 'which type of medical'? It will be the same medical that's currently used for ESA. There isn't another type of medical for deciding your capability for work.

    Allow me to explain.
What I meant is, could the migration to uc mean yet another Atos questioning type interview like my pip has been since 2012-not that Atos have ever been unhelpful-they have been great at least in my interviews for pip
Maybe I'll re post near the switchover time, as you kindly mention any esa style medical is ages away-best I don't request some details of what to expect yet.
Thanks for your kind advice Ames

The assessment for UC limited capability for work is the same at the ESA assessment and similar to PIP.

Possibly - it depends where you live as to which company does the interview.

The format is pretty much the same between ESA and PIP, but the questions are different as the benefits are looking at different things.

When it comes to having the work capability assessment, I'd read up on it as much as you can (you'll find loads of information on these forums). As with PIP it depends on points and descriptors, so you'll need to be clear which ones you think you meet.

PIP is totally separate to UC, you'll still be going through assessments for that on a different schedule to the UC.
