Driving down from France in October and would like recommendations please. We are sun people so as hot as possible (although nothing is guaranteed). Somewhere to relax with a few restaurants and bars for the evenings within walking distance. We usually go for an apartment and don’t like “brits abroad” holidays with karaoke, Sunday lunch and fish and chips! Thanks for suggestions.

The hottest places in October are likely to be Murcia and around Seville, but both are a long drive from France.0

We always go to Seville in October/November It's warm but not too hot. Hasn't been anglicised and you're lucky if you actually find anybody speaking English apart from the odd Brit/US tourist. Haven't found a fish & chip shop yet but there are McDonald's
.
Daughter lives there so free accommodation.0 -
We spend a lot of time in Mojacar/ Garrucha and Vera. Still warm enough to be in the sea or outdoor pool. Garrucha and Vera are still very spanish. Mojacar isn't "English" but there are a few "English" pubs around there.0

Thank you so much for such quick replies. Drive is around 16 hours so we do it with a couple of overnight stops. First probably just over the Border. I use my iPad with 3G and book from the car when we’re about an hour away. We’ve had some fantastic last minute deals that way.0

St Feliu de Guixols, Palamos, Peniscola, Alcossebre and javea. These are all places we have stayed in and enjoyed. Javea isn't a Brits abroad type pace but there are a lot of English people living there but it is still a gorgeous place.0

Doesn't the Valencia area (where Javea is located) have a lot of rain and storms in October/November?Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0
