I'm in college and work part time. Do I put student or employed on my credit application?

Just a bit confused on what to do put since I am both of them.

Don't know. Have you tried an eligibility checker? You could try one twice. Once as a student and another as employed and see whether the offers change or not....Sorry can't be any more help...

Just be careful with using the card.

If you are a full time student and work part time then in my opinion you should put down student on the application.
You could quit the job at any time to concentrate on your studies could you not?
This will meant that some lenders won't offer you a card unless you have a minimum wage per year.
Go to the eligibility checker before applying willy nilly.

Indeed, however I'd personally have thought that part time employed would look better. That's speculation though.


At this point in time, both would be true. The only question you may be asked is whether you expect your financial situation to change in the near future, which you'd have to (legally) answer truthfully.

Obviously don't try a real application twice, putting conflicting answers. There is a risk this could be picked up as a fraud by NHunter.

I never meant for a real application. Only for the eligibility checker...

So you're saying they don't search FPAs and leave a footprint with application particulars when you use an eligibility checker? I'd be surprised if that were true.

They definitely leave a footprint on your credit file. But only as quotation and not as a credit application.


What does FPA stand for please?...I did a quick google but couldn't find it....
