Hello and thank you all for reading,
Throughout the past couple of years I have been insured through Marks and Spencers home insurance who act as a broker, the selected underwriter was AXA.
Since 2018 Marks and Spencer changed there clients underwriters over to Aviva who are now my current home insurance provider.
I have a claim history of 3 claims in total.. however when my most recent claim was being dealt with, my insurance renewed and was taken over by Aviva, of which my premium did rise as expected due to a claim being made within that year, however,, when I received my renewal documents from M&S/Aviva the claim history amount noted for this ongoing claim was vastly lower than it should of been. I queried this with Aviva and M&S and was told because it was in the process of being dealt with that the amount on the renewal is a default amount and would of course be updated once its dealt with, however 6 months down the line Ive received no extra correspondance from either insurer or broker to change the amount or ask.
I hadn't really given it any thought until I stumbled across the documents earlier today, and got thinking, if I tried to make a claim would Aviva not draw inference to the fact that the claim amount was vastly lower than it actually said on the renewal document or is it not the surely the job of my previous insurer to pass the details on as all I have done is renew my insurance...
I don't see how I could be liable for there non communication with each other, however I do understand I should query this with them but being on the phone for 30 mins + doesn't really seem practical when I don't see it as my fault M&S haven't done there job.
If I'm off the mark with my assumption then please set me straight.
Thank you

Whilst I personally don't think it should be a problem, you willing to gamble your house on it?0

May be better to ring the insurer, however someone here may have an answer for you.0
