Civil Enforcement Ltd Parking Charge
Hi Guys,
Just after a little advice as to whether its worth appealing this parking charge to POPLA.
The story is this - I entered the car park and saw it wasn't a pay and display. I assumed that you call up and pay once you leave as there was no ticket machine either. 0-1hrs was free, 1-2hrs something like £2 and 2-4hrs £5. I was there for about 3hrs and called to pay when i left - paying the 4hr option. I received a text from the company assuming it was receipt and didnt bother reading it.
Anyway, I received a PCN a little while ago saying i was there without paying. After digging out the text from the parking company, it seems when i paid, i paid for 4hrs from that point. Basically, you have have to pay when you enter, not when you leave.
I sent an appeal letter to the parking company along with a screenshot of the text receipt saying it was a simple mistake and that i did actually pay but got confused as to when to pay.
Well, they sent me a letter last week rejecting the appeal saying there are signposts saying how to pay and that i breached the terms and conditions. They go on to say that the internal claims process has come to an end but i can appeal to POPLA. The catch is, if i appeal to POPLA, I won't have the option of paying the reduced amount of £60 instead of £110. Sounds like they're trying to scare me off appealing.
Anyway, i'm just after a bit of advice from you guys to let me know if you think it may be worth me appealing or if i should just pay the £60.
Cheers in advance!!!

Read up on this in the newbies FAQ thread you will find in the separate parking forum where you previously posted about another ticket you had received, followed advice and got it cancelled! if
Then if you still have questions on how to deal with this start a new thread there
None of the regular posters in that forum would say to pay now!0 -
You found the parking forum last time. You need to do the same again this time.0
-
It would be advisable to edit the OP to remove all information about who was driving - PPCs do know about this forum and have sought to compromise posters.0
