Elderly cat only eating (feline) tuna

Taurine deficiency in cats can lead to blindness, tooth decay and heart failure.
Taurine supplementation through complete food is vital as cats cannot synthesize taurine ( an essential amino acid ) in their own bodies.0 -
I wouldn't be too concerned about the tuna but he does really need a complete cat food to get the nutrients he needs.
Maybe try mixing some of the Encore into a complete brand of tuna cat food so he gradually gets used to it?
You can then try introducing different foods, although I wouldn't be too fussed if fishy food is what he wants at that age.0 -
Cats fed an all-tuna diet can suffer with thiamine deficiency, resulting in severe brain damage and death.0
