Taurine deficiency in cats can lead to blindness, tooth decay and heart failure.

Taurine supplementation through complete food is vital as cats cannot synthesize taurine ( an essential amino acid ) in their own bodies.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the tuna but he does really need a complete cat food to get the nutrients he needs.

Maybe try mixing some of the Encore into a complete brand of tuna cat food so he gradually gets used to it?

You can then try introducing different foods, although I wouldn't be too fussed if fishy food is what he wants at that age.
  • Cats fed an all-tuna diet can suffer with thiamine deficiency, resulting in severe brain damage and death.
