After trying to call the office in Stradey today, and hunting high and low online I still can't find out what time the firework display is starting tomorrow (sunday 4th 2007), that's all I can find is:
Stradey Park Fireworks, Llanelli
Sun 4th Nov 2007
One of the biggest organised displays in town, at the home of the Llanelli Scarlets
£5 adults, £3 children under 16.
Tickets on the gate or call 0871 871 8088
anyone else know anymore details? Thanks!! :j

Except by 6.40pm they'd already finished.

I'm sure they're not this early normally - perhaps it's because it's Sunday they've done them a bit earlier.

I found the start time on the Llanelli Star Website and by the time my grand children arrived it was all over, I rechecked the website and found that the times had been removed for all the places listed. What a disgrace and a lot of upset children no doubt

DH was going to take DD over - she was really excited - but they weren't planning to leave until 6.30. Of course the fireworks then started at about 20 past. Luckily we live just the other side of Sandy Bridge so we dashed out of the house and had a reasonably good view of the big fireworks from the side of our house so DD wasn't too disappointed. But your grandchildren must have been pretty miffed to miss out. I was also a bit puzzled as to why they had it today not tomorrow - I could understand if it was a match day but obviously it isn't. Still, DD's got another big display to look forward to in about 3 weeks at the carnival!

Glad you managed to catch it from your side of the bridge Jane, look at the saving £ 5.00 admission for a twenty minute display it's disgusting. My grand kids were not too disappointed as they conned their fathers to take them to Carmarthen tonight. If it's anything like last night they had better be there by lunchtime LOL

We're having our own mini-display in the back garden tonight (if DH ever gets home!!!) so that should cheer DD up anyway. One of my friends is lucky because she lives by the Gnoll so is going over there (if you can call living by the Gnoll lucky!!!! :D)

exactly what we decided to do in the end last night! (and earlier this evening :o ).

Eldest had a meltdown last night and we took a while to get him back on track, so by 6pm we knew we weren't going (we'd have been too late apparently  love those Llanelli Star folks!)

thanks to Mr. Tesco and his BOGOF on fireworks, we spend £10, had 40 smallish fireworks and 3 very happy kids!

I live down Morfa area and my boys have also been quite impressed by the fire engines in residence every 20 mins or so tonight, with thanks to some of our frindly locals being less than sensible with their "displays"

Oh well - off to have some Bangers and mash and watch V for Vendetta! "Happy Fireworks Night" - ahem! :D:D

Glad you didn't miss out Taff!!! I was quite impressed with our little display of fireworks in the back garden tonight - we paid £27 (not very MSE :o) for a box but it was bogof so we're keeping the other box for new year. There was a nice variety and they weren't too lound for sensitive baby DS - apart from the screamer rockets!! My fave was the catherine wheel which nearly burned the shed down but was very impressive, but sadly there was only one of those. They were definitely an improvement on the pathetic squibs we used to get back in the dark ages of my childhood!

    Roll on the carnival!
