Temporary move advice, bit lost!

Hi all,
Around 3 months ago we decided to finally put our house on the market and get serious about moving from our first home and upgrade to a larger house.
Long story cut short but our house sold very quickly and we haven't found anywhere yet. We're going to move in to my Wife's parent's house temporarily until we find our next house.
What exactly do we do for this temporary move? Do we have to change over all of our accounts, bank, credit card etc to the in law's address and then do the same again when we find a house?
Thanks for any advice I'm all a bit confused!

We changed it all, and at the time we had around 20 bank accounts, but most was handled on-line, so it probably took an afternoon.
We were in rented for 9 months, so we couldn't go AWOL for that length of time. Hopefully, for you, it will be a shorter wait.0 -
It's the most prudent thing to do, otherwise you have a redirection in place if it's a very temporary move and hope it all arrives. We've always had redirections in place when we've moved anyway.
Our local post office was still diverting random bits and bobs for us well after our official redirection ended.
Unfortunately, you don't know how long this process will take, so it's probably worth biting the bullet.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thanks for the advice all

I'm hoping it's only temporary but we're looking for our "forever home" and don't want to rush it.0 -
We discovered that even in a forever home, the council and Post Office may randomly conspire to completely alter one's address.
However, with so much being paperless now, things are surely easier than ten years ago, when we last had a redirect in place.0 -
If you haven't found your next house by the time your sale completes, you'll be in the temporary address for at least three months - likely longer. I'd definitely change everything - and still do a six month redirection to catch anything you miss. At least as it's a family address, if anything gets redirected there after you've left they can keep it for you.0
