VM box went wrong yesterday. Engineer turned up today & replaced router & was going to replace TV box. He couldn't do it because the cable going into old box(screw thread) won't fit new box connection, he said copper wire is too thick. All our VM cable's are buried behind skirting boards, so are not accessible.
The only way is to put a new cable around the room is along the skirting. I'm not keen on that(hate seeing cable's everywhere). Does anyone know of a connector that could join both bits together. Cheers for any replies 😁.
P.s, can't seem to add photo of both bits thou

Sorry I've no idea what cables go into a VM box but if he couldn't work out a way of doing it, I think "engineer" may not be an appropriate description of the man from Virgin.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

That did cross my mind. It's hard to explain exactly the problem when you can't post photos on here. I'm going to take new connector & bit of old cable to a couple of electronic places & see if they can solve the problem.if i had known then what i know now0 -

VM use two cable thicknesses, as we discovered when the gardening contractor 'pruned' our supply. Man with van they sent could not fix as he didn't have the correct connectors for the thicker cable and had to get man with a different van to come out.

Is your old connector a screw type (F connector) and the new bix with a push fit coax connector (as per oldet arial coax connectors) ?
If so then this one may suffice ti adapt from one to tother...
