VISA Electron is a debit card which comes out your bank account.
Switch is now called Maestro and also a debit card.
Electron isn't as widely accepted as Maestro.
Normal VISA and Mastercard are the credit cards.
AMEX do credit and charge cards. Not as widely accepted in the UK as VISA and Mastercard.
You say you've never have Electron, or Maestro? Do you just pay cash for everything then?Dave. :wave:0 -

Zebedee69 could have had a Visa Debit Card (formerly called Visa Delta).
Could also have had a Solo card when under 18 years of age. (Electron is under 18s only.)0 -

Forgot about that one.Dave. :wave:0 -
Also electron does not have embossed numbering so can only be used in electronic card machines (hence the name) not the old zipzap manual machines, meaning every transaction requires authorisation.0
