It is a scientific fact that your body will not absorb calories if you take it from another person's plate.

  • This 18th century fairytale stone tower, overlooking the Holy Island of Lindisfarne on the lovely Northumbrian coast, has been renovated to five star standard and is available for weekends and short breaks. One lucky Health & Wellbeing winner will win a wonderful three-night weekend for two here, worth up to £600! Known locally as The Ducket, this tower has five circular rooms, each becoming smaller as you climb the spiral staircase until you reach a miniature library on the top floor. You will find the place warm and extremely well equipped, with ground-source heating, Wi-Fi, dishwasher, washer-drier and all the mod cons. The Ducket’s quiet, unspoilt, rural surroundings and beautiful views of the sea and the Northumbrian countryside make it the perfect place to relax and unwind. You are also perfectly placed to take boat trips to the Farne Islands, explore magnificent castles, beaches and coastline, enjoy home-cooked Northumbrian food in friendly pubs, visit the lovely Holy Island of Lindisfarne and go hill walking in the Cheviots. The historic towns of Alnwick and Berwick-upon-Tweed are close by. For couples who enjoy cycling and walking, you’ll be glad to know that the Ducket is located on the Coast and Castles cycle route and on the northerly coastal stretch of St Oswald’s Way walking route. The owners of The Ducket also offer many more charming holiday cottages nearby, sleeping two to six people, all set in beautifully kept private gardens. Dogs are permitted in three of the cottages. Set within an Area of Outstanding Beauty, and with miles of sandy beaches and majestic Northumbrian Castles close by, all these properties offer a great sense of tranquillity and calm for a truly restorative break.
