Yes if you are not in a Universal Credit area https://ucpostcode.entitledto.co.uk/ucdate. If you are in a UC area you cannot make a new claim for HB (unless you have more than 2 children) and will have to claim UC in order to get help with your rent. However be aware that claiming UC will end any existing Tax Credits or other means tested benefits you are receiving.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0
