plumber liability

Hi
I'm getting my bathroom refit (complete strip down and build). The plumber/builder I'm talking to does not have any liability insurance. Should I be concerned?

Do plumbers normally have liability insurance?

Suppose during the renovation the plumber makes a mistake and floods the house etc. then who pays?

What other checks /due diligence should I do when engaging a plumber/builder to work in my house.

If a tradey can't afford £100 per year then steer WELL clear - it's as basic as filling up our vans with diesel, we all do it!

The sort of builder who doesn't have liability insurance is a liability to you and your home. Don't use them.
