This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Morning everyone
I’m off shopping first thing this morning, and then I want to get the housework out of the way so that I don’t have to worry about it over the weekend.
I’m having a busy couple of days with visitors and meeting friends. After meeting a friend yesterday for coffee and then my niece coming over in the afternoon I’m going out for dinner with a friend this evening. My social life always seems to be all or nothing.
TA I was really sorry to hear your sad news, I hope that the Marie Curie nurses can give you some extra support. I’m thinking of you and your family.0 -
Good morning and thank you for starting the thread Hollyharvey.
I'll be away for the weekend so won't be here. I will be thinking ofpeople while away though and am sending love to the TAsI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning All
Thinking of the TAs as usual.
Have a good weekend AOD. I too am going away for the weekend, Yorkshire to see friends, DD and DS1 coming too.
The roughcasting is finished, looks really good but there's a bit of a mess to clear up, apparently they are coming back on Tuesday to do that. The chap wasn't too happy that I had taken the plastic off the back door but I had to get in!
Friday at last, DD is coming later to take the furniture from her room, I guess she really has moved out then! If only she would take some of her other rubbish too.
Early finish for me today, I love a Friday. Take care. XX0 -
Morning all

Work today but its Fridayand we have lovely clients today, I am so much enjoying my mew role, its much less hectic for starters although still quite stressful.
Not sure about dinner tonight will go and look in the freezer after this there are some bits and bobs in there so we wont go hungry.
Cleaner coming today :j so it will be nice and tidy for coming home tonight, and much less work for us over the weekend.
TA So sorry to hear your news, sending much love to you both and a gentle hug for Mr TA xx
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning
Hope you are going somewhere lovely AOD I was in an office block near to snow hill station on weds so we probly got pretty close (coffee next time)
So sad to read TAs news yesterday. No words will help I know so just sending lots of love.
Another long day yesterday in fact it was after 6 before I finished and the 30 odd miles home took nearly as long as the 90 miles getting back from Brum.
So less hours today but would swop any time as its banana day. Going to seriously get it in the neck cos its Friday and obviously Morrisons will not be ready. Working tonight too so will be glad when its tomorrow morning. We will go out for lunch (despite the marauding crowds mother believes will be out because its Friday)
so no need for food tonight. No house stuff so have a big list ready for the weekend.
Enjoy your Friday everyone if you can0 -
Just a quick de lurk to say to Mrs ta that the Macmillan nurses are quite simply angels in a uniform. When they visited MIL they couldn’t have been more understanding, gracious and helpful. However they were also firm and great at taking charge when needed we were at a loss of what to do sometimes.
Sending you and your family love light and gentle hugs XXSIMPLY BE-££577.11:eek:

Morning everyone
hiollyharvey - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Sun shining and clear sky, but temperature has really dropped overnight and it's quite cool, hoping it'll warm up as the day goes on. I have a wash load ready to peg out, I'll do that in a mo.
DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 also gone to work and DS2 now getting ready to go for a run, he'll also have a lift with me to help me with the shopping, then go on to the gym.
Dinner last night was a naughty takeaway - it was lovely though, but won't be having one again for a while as they've increased their prices again. Dinner tonight will be the sausages, mash, veg and gravy that we were going to have last night, it's already prepped so just needs cooking.
Yesterday I was slightly more productive than I have been of late, I hoovered the dining room and realised how dusty it was, so pulled the table out and gave it all a good clean and carpet a good hoover with my new hoover, carpet looks so much better. The other rooms got a good hoover too, and dusted the lounge.
Today, I'll be food shopping first thing, then need to do the ironing, will then do some cleaning.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and thanks HOLLY for the kick off. A lovely sunny start here but it feels the chilliest morning we have had so far.
Thank you for all the love and good wishes when you read our sad news. It means a lot to know people care.
The young lady from the Sue Ryder Marie Curie hospice was absolutely lovely yesterday. Asked us loads of questions about our wishes and explained what services are offered both in the home and at the hospice. Also quite a few booklets etc to read at leisure and phone numbers to ring in times of trouble. She called back later on her way home to tell us what had already been implemented. We want to carry on as normally as we can for as long as we can here. I want to continue getting Mr TA up, showered and dressed and safely installed downstairs ready for his breakfast (such as it is with his eating problem) and the same again in the evening getting him back to bed. Throughout the day it's no problem. I am fully aware though that things will get worse and I will need help but it's nice to know the help will be there when I need it.
I have already started rationing visitors as I saw last Saturday he was overwhelmed by just 4 together. Yesterday his DB came and today my DB and SIL are coming. They go on holiday at the w/e and want to see Mr TA before they go. They are off up to somewhere they have wanted to go for years - the remote archipelago of St Kilda. They have holidayed in Scotland twice a year all their married life and this is one of the few places that has remained a dream.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) to all in need/want of them. Hope the weekenders have a lovely time away xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Good Morning lovely people
Sending 'warm thoughts' to Mr&Mrs TA - lovely to see that the 'AngelMacs' are already on top of things on your behalf. I know, from my working life, how indispensible they can become to the families that they're involved with.
Been up since silly o'clock - couldn't sleep due to blocked nose/dry mouth etc. Now on phone to Surgery for apt for today, IF possible. Just got through - apt for 9.00am - better shift my backside to get there!
Have a good day everybody0
