They did sign to say they accepted the inspection fee though i personally doubt an inspection took place after seeing the state the flat was in when they moved in, but that's only a guess and maybe completely wrong.0 -
They have given the LA ten days as that's what the scheme people have told them to do, as they had never formally (in writing) asked for the deposit back - it was all done over the phone. The scheme will open a dispute if we request it - once the ten days have elapsed and it's not resolved to their satisfaction.0

The scheme are incorrect; you can claim 1 second after handing keys back0
