Help with plumbing

Hi,
I would like to replace the current downstairs loo with a little modern toilet. The current toilet soil pipe goes towards the side wall. I've provided URL for the current image.
I was wondering if it would be possible to fit a modern WC unit without major disruption? May be something like the image in 2nd URL.

Only issue I can see is having to 'adjust' (butcher) the cabinet around the soil pipe?0

the soil pipe outlet of the new toilet should be the same height or slightly higher than the old toilet otherwise over time you may get buildup and a blockage. As the saying goes. 'Sh*t always flows down hill'0

Yeah, and I'm worried whether it'll look good after that or not.Only issue I can see is having to 'adjust' (butcher) the cabinet around the soil pipe?
I don't want the toilet in the same style as the current one but not sure how a modern toilet pan will fit the current soil pipe.0 -
I don't know whether it would be possible but could you have a built in toilet cistern that would cover the soil pipe?
I noticed that you have some sort of boxed in wall at the back with a shelf. Maybe it would just be a case of extending that out and across the soil pipe so the whole cistern is boxed in.
It would look a lot neater and you would have a good shelf over the top0 -
Looks like you already have some boxwork behind the loo already - so I'd definitely go for built in and hide the lot

I replaced my WC with the above. Cleanest flush ever and soft-close seat. No need to spend a fortune on quality toilets.0 -
