I'd already cancelled my flight and re-booked again to get the 10kg checked in luggage at the lower price compared to adding it to my existing booking.

Well this is just stupid now, because me and my friends had booked priority boarding only 3 days ago thinking we would not be allowed 10kg on the flight?

We booked our flights on 26th august and because of the new changes booked our priority on the 3rd of september. Our flight is on 7th of november

What can we do now, are we entitled to a refund for the priority boarding that we booked?
  • I upgraded to Priority the day that this was announced in the news which was 24th August yet, they are only refunding after the 31st August? Is this a joke?

Everyone who booked priority boarding after the new policy was announced have been refunded.

"All passengers who had booked on/before 31 August will now face no extra cost or inconvenience, as they have today received a free 10kg check bag, from Ryanair, added to their booking. We’re also looking forward to welcoming some 50,000 passengers on-board after 1 November, (who made their booking before 31 August) but who bought Priority Boarding over the last two weeks, who will now receive this service free of charge."

Only if you added it onto an existing booking at the higher price. If you cancelled, then re-booked to get the cheaper checked bag fee, you won't get a refund. Been on live chat this afternoon to be told this.
  • I have two booking with Ryanair both made before the end of August. On one they have added the 10KG checked luggage but not the other. The flight without the checked bag was booked through Ryanair on their website but the flight is actually operated by Laudamotion. I am wondering if this is the reason. Does this apply to flights operated by Laudamotion as well (who I think Ryanair own most of).
