Bootmgr Message Xp/vista Problem

i hope someone can maybe help me as i am trying to install windowsxp pro on my hard drive which i have just deleted/formated vista from with the intention of installing windows xp pro instead.

there is a message saying BOOTMGR whne i try to load and boot from my cd drive.

i have an acer t660

does any one have any idea why this appearing and can somone maybe tell how to get rid of this?

thanks in advance for any help and advice anyone can give me!

  • Have you got the Vista DVD still?

    If so, put that disk in, Set your computer to boot from DVD (using the Boot setting in the BIOS),

    Vista will prompt you for language and keyboard layout options, then ask if you want to reinstall Vista or repair your installation. Click Repair

    Click Command Prompt and then Format the drive using Format C: ( the one command I hate to give people :whistle:)

    Once done, reinsert the XP disk, and install XP
