Aha, was the original will written by a firm of will-writers, or a 'proper' solicitor?Signature removed for peace of mind0

Proper solicitors. Probably a bit of inexperience on my part as it was my first time. I'll be better equipped on Monday when I meet the new one.Cheers,
Ray.

The Solicitors holding my existing Will say it needs rewriting as a new one. The cost is £250 + VAT so £300.
They also went on to say even small changes like address change would be treated as a new Will so another £300.
Is this standard practice for Solicitors? This is a large one with many solicitors rather than a small one. Or should I keep addresses separately and just provide names to protect myself from further charges?
Whether £300 is fair may depends on where you live and how complex your will is.. Are you clear that there is no need for more changes to your Will, 6 years is a long time, IHT rules have changed since then IIRC for exampleFew people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -

Given that will cost £112 when I had it drawn up in 2012 tells me I'm being ripped off. The new one will cost £135 from the new solicitors. I'm aware of the limit on IHT.Cheers,
Ray.
