Would help to know what your budget is!
I have the Zanussi Lindo 300 condensing dryer. Was a Which best buy when I bought it 3 years ago, and had good on line customer reviews.
Sensor is accurate. Machine is quiet. Large drum and door, so can do a lot of towels at once. Will take a duvet. Condensing tank is at the top of the machine so easy to empty.
Currently £300

Grundig heatpump 5 year warranty.
Beko do a similar model with short warranty cheaper.
This has all the features you need.

What ever you shortlist use pricespy to know what is a good price, most yoyo a lot.
Also make sure your washing machine is up to scratch on spin efficiency, clothes do not come out wet from decent machines.
There are also some hybrid models around that use heatpump and a heater that are more efficient, quicker, more expensive.0 -
I too bought a Miele (in January) TKG840. When looking around as what to buy what really struck me was the cheaper machines were 3/4 times more expensive to run than the Miele I ended up getting. It seems to me to be very short sighted to just factor in the initial cost rather than the running costs especially as we’ve had 2 electricity price hikes in a year. Also the Miele has lots of really useful features & programmes. Factor in the 5 year warranty and bobs your uncle.0

Heatpump tumble dryers are a bit of a waste - they are so slow to dry the clothes.
I've had Beko similar to this model for a couple of years - works really well and has a large capacitypoppy100 -

Mile were not that much more efficient than other heatpump models to justify the increased cost payback is too long.0 -

If you have a decent washer the loads don't take too long to dry and only matters if you sit there watching it.
The energy saving over vented/condenser with heaters is worth it.0 -
I've had a couple of people recommend gas tumble dryers to me, apparently they are very efficient and the clothes come out not needing ironed. I think we may invest in one when ours gives up0
