Overlimit Warning on Clearscore

So I check all my credit files regularly and this month Clearscore flagged a warning/negative point about not going over my credit limit.
I have gone through every account I have, and nothing is showing as near or over my credit limit.
Is this just something that flags up as a general warning or is it triggered by something I can't see?
Sorry if this is a silly question but I've just never seen this before.

  • If you haven't gone overlimit, it's just a general warning.
  • I also recently noticed this..

I have never gone over my credit limit and nothing has changed for over six months, however my credit score has dropped slightly and this negative impact has appeared..

'Avoid going over your credit card limit again'

I was going to contact them but it seems more effort than it's worth, as you need to go through Equifax.
  • Any changes in score or tips from CRAs should be ignored.

If something is important, it will be blindingly obvious to you.

I had the same notice on my report, I knew it was false but contacted them anyway to report the error. This was their response:

We're aware of a technical issue affecting a small number of people wherein they are being informed of exceeding their credit limits, when they actually haven't.

I have reviewed your account and I noticed that there is no negative around the credit card limits being exceeded.

We’re really sorry, but the message you are seeing is a display error.

Please note, that this is not an issue with how Equifax are holding your data, as this is simply a display issue on our side.

This does not affect how lenders will see you as ClearScore is not a credit reference agency and lenders do not use ClearScore.

We hope to have this fixed soon, please do let me know if you’re having any other issues.
  • They’re right - they’re not a CRA.

But somehow won an award for being “Credit Reference Agency of the Year”

    Go figure

As they said companies use CRA not clearscore - if there is nothing wrong with your account ignore the spurious warnings.

Last year Clearscore warned me I had no credit in use, even though they had showed I had several credit cards the month before. The following month they then say my score has changed again because of newly opened credit (i.e. the same cards I had 2 months previous).

Clearscore's website is like it's been built as a year 6 school project for kids before they go to big school.

They one of my mortgages listed as being £180K over it's limit because it set the opening balance at £0.

Instead of bothering with out of date information from the likes of Clearscore and Noddle I now get the free statutory report from Equifax which is up to date and as you know its now free. Also the information from Equifax is transferred to Clearscore .
