O2 Mobile Data Transfer Rate Reduced by 70%

Ok so we all have a mobile in this modern world so when I needed a faster Data Rate in my 4G five bar area. I made a few checks and decided that a huge 50 GB data £48.00 per month was needed for my monthly usage from O2, having been a customer of theirs for over ten years. A journey to the O2 shop in Sheffield and an in depth discussion was had with staff from O2 abou t what I needed and what phone would be best to handle the work I was doing. Mostly 4K broadcasts.
The suggestion was to upgrade from my old Samsung S7 to the new Iphone X (ten) The deal was made and I came home with a new phone on contract where I soon put it to work. Firstly I needed to check the data rate. Ookla conducted the test and I was very happy with the results. I had got 45Gb Download with an upload of an impressive 20Gb data rate Boom I was back in business after suffering using a poor data rate from Plusnet in our area of only 1.2Gb download and 0.80 Gb upload speed.
For the first month everything was great. Living smack in the middle of a 4G area everything started to happen instantly click and it was there. Wow O2 had done me proud and the transfer rate exceptional with no complaints from me. However, one week after using it things started to change with the transfer rate. Slowly but steadily the transfer rate seemed to slow down heres the weekly report for the first 6 weeks.
week1 45 down 20 up
week2 38 down 18 up
week3 35 down 16 up
week4 32 down 14 up
week5 28 down 12 up
week6 25 down 10 up
After living with this reduction for now what is 12 weeks im now left with a data rate of 4.83 down 11 up.
Ive called O2 and they have raised a network concern because with a fully updated phone conducting the test at the same place at different times in the day from the same spot in the house, connecting to the same server its becoming clear that this package has quickly turned into what could only be described as not fit for purpose. Now when I use my phone it lags on everything simply cannot do anything that involves streaming or video forget 4K
Does anyone else have these concerns about O2 I now have to wait another week for some checks to come back but at this reduction rate it looks like ill be carrying my phone to all the subscribers i have and showing them what ive made instead of uploading it anywhere Simply can not continue this way. Im under contract for two years. God forbid what things are going to be like as we draw near to the completion date

Probably best being asked in the techie forum to be honest but streaming anything in 4K would eat up that data and thus have O2 put a cap on usage?Dont rock the boat

Data rates are usually quoted in mbps not Gb. So you initially had 45 mbps down and 20 mbps up.
As per post #2, how much data (in GB) have you used on your connection? (Your phone should give an estimate; your O2 account should tell you exactly what they've claimed). It's very possible that you've exceeded your contract data limit (50GB) so O2 have throttled your connection.0 -

Were the speeds guaranteed when you purchased the package or just the amount of data?0 -
I've not read the whole post, as it appears mostly irrelevant padding, but if the complaint is that you think 4.83Mbs is unfit for purpose then you're on a hiding to nothing. I know some O2 customers who'd love to get that.0

There was no reason to get an IPhone X, the Galaxy S7 would have been more than capable of getting the best speed in your area. You would have been much better keeping your current phone and looking for the best deal online as you would have saved alot of money and could have got more data (50Gb isn't much when your streaming 4K video).
Also as pointed out your upload and download speed would be in "Mbps" not "Gb".Data rates are usually quoted in mbps not Gb. So you initially had 45 mbps down and 20 mbps up.
As you are correcting the OP it's worth pointing out that it will be "Mbps" and not "mbps". The lower case "m" is milli which is not relevant in computing terms as you cannot have one thousandth of a bit (a bit is the smallest unit).0
