    Update! Move done! :D

Kitty is semi-happily installed in his new home, 300 miles to the north. He is a little worried the new neighbour cats won't understand his southern miaows.

Drive was fine - he didn't make a sound and didn't wee/poo in the box, so that's a win!

He was shut in a room for the first day, then tentatively started exploring the house. One minor setback when he went in the kitchen for the first time - he jumped on a worktop and knocked off a stack of metal baking trays, which made an almighty crash on the floor so he scarpered and hid under a bed for three hours. :(

He wanted a LOT of attention for the first couple of days. He gets shut out of the bedroom at night which he's normally fine with, but we had loud miaowing from 3am on the first couple of nights. He'd also snooze under our duvet during the day, which he never normally does.

All getting back to normal now though, and the upshot is, it was nowhere near as bad as I thought it'd be. :o:D
  • He'll be fine. My cat had the same issue; southern miaows but the Northerners soon understood him, and him vice versa so he had no reason to worry. Now he's a full Northern cat having not only survived, but actually thrived through 3 full and 1 half winters. He's proper loving it ;-)

Good luck to you all and hope you enjoy your new home

(PS it was nice to hear an update so thank you)
