Adding Attendance Allowance to Pension Credit

I have applied for Attendance Allowance and I hope someone can advise me on my entitlement on Pension Credit.
I am married and my wife and I receive £232 /week in State Pension.
We have savings of £36000 and receive approx £3/week in Savings Credit.
If I receive AA I will receive a further £57/week.
Will this bring me within guarrenteed pension credit?
Thanks in advance

Pension credit is a means tested benefit any savings over £10,000 are counted as income £1 for every £500 over that amount. As you have £36,000 in savings then you might not get much, if any pension credit. See link.

That might be why they only get approx £3.00 per week in savings credit currently.
Corrected as I meant to type savings credit instead of pension credit.
  • On those figures you'd get a few pence guarantee pension credit. Worth it for the passported benefits.

They are not getting £3 a week guarantee pension credit. They are getting £3 a week savings credit. This does not passport you to other benefits.

The couples rate for guarantee pension credit is £248 per week. With their pensions plus the tariff income from savings (£26000 @ £1 for every £500 -therefore £52 would be counted as income) So not eligible for any guarantee pension credit.

As regards the claim for AA the OP may be eligible for the severe disability premium as part of the assessment but his wife would also need to be claiming AA or mid/high rate care or PIP standard daily living , no one claiming Carer's Allowance for the OP and no other non dependents living with them.

If OP is entitled to the SDP then they may just be eligible for some guarantee pension credit.

So, OP, does your wife claim any DLA/PIP/AA, is there anyone else living with you and does anyone claim Carer's Allowance for you (or would do if your claim for AA is successful)?
