Just wondering if anyone has had success removing a CCJ issued by Lowell by consent?

I have a CCJ with £800 remaining, currently paying £50 a month off. If Lowell agreed to withdraw the ccj im sure i would find a way to pay this immediately

Unsure why you feel the need to play games. As there's only one loser.

    Why is it a game?

There is nothing to lose by asking them, the ccj is already in place.
  • There would be little point trying to bribe a company in this way, a CCJ can be removed only with the correct justification or if it is paid with 30 days or registration via an annulment.

The CCJ was applied in accordance with the law and there is no legal reason for it to be removed. It is not acceptable practice for it to be removed upon offer of settlement, unless it is within the first 30 days, which is allowed and is performed automatically.

If you can find the money to settle it in the case of removal, then perhaps fully accept your responsibility for it and settle it regardless. You can then move on from it and in 6 years time it will be removed from your credit file.

You would have had 30 days to make things right without long-term damage along with all the previous warnings the original creditor must have issued you before taking out the CCJ. Learn from it and do not make the same mistake again. Ensure all debt is affordable and communicate effectively with any creditors you are struggling to pay, which helps to avoid ending up with a CCJ in the first place.

Even if you do pay off the full amount, it will stay on your credit history for 6 years from it's commencement.
The creditor has no leverage without the CCJ, and they have already incurred the cost of obtaining it. Why would they withdraw it while you are still paying?

Because they would get the money immediately rather than in a years time
  • They won’t remove it no.

It will be down to the court and they won’t do it.

Paid off or not it will come off 6 years from the judgement date unless paid off in full within 30 days of judgement

It got to the point of a CCJ because you let it get that far so its a true fact how you ran the account. It might get marked as settled if its paid off.
  • Jeez what’s up with all the negativity here. Did anyone actually search for ccj removal by consent before responding?
