Can my carer still receive benefits if I am a student?

Hi all
I was wondering if anyone can help?!
My father claims carers allowance for me as I am on ESA and PIP.
I am starting college soon and am worried this will affect his carers allowance benefit?
I know it doesn't affect any of my benefits so surely it shouldn't affect his, am I right? I can't find info on this anywhere!
He will still be caring for me for the 36 hours required, nothing will change in that respect.
I would appreciate any information
Many thanks

Thank you hun!
Is he a full time student?
I'm actually 41 years old and going back to college, which in itself has been a big step for me 😊 I've read on the gov.UK website that I can be full time and still receive my ESA and PIP but I was worried it would affect my fathers carers benefit, but by sounds of things it shouldnt!
I'm also worried that me going into education will make them reconsider my ESA and PIP claim! My claim is thru mental health mainly but also some physical symptoms but I won't be doing anything strenuous and will be getting mental support from my tutor 😊
Maybe I'm just worrying too much?!
Thanks again for your feedback, much appreciated xBack from a 6 YEAR break from comping :T Wins since October 2019: Emmerdale Studio Tour, CheekyTrip Goody Bag, Stormtrooper Cereal Bowl, 4 books signed by the author, 3 night break in Suffolk worth over £650!, another book, £100 Deichmann Voucher, £50 One4All Voucher, Spy kids Kit, 90s Concert Tix and a Dash Cam!Hopefully more to come!!

It won't affect your Dad's benefits. You can't receive carer's allowance whilst the carer is a full time student but the person being cared for being a student has no effect (provided everything else stays the same)0

Thank you for your reply! Your input is much appreciated!
Well that has put my mind at the some ease 😊 just worrying now that they may reconsider my claim for ESA and PIP but I can't see any reason for that if I'm honest! Part of my illness is anxiety so my minds in overdrive wondering if me going to college will be a bad move financially!Back from a 6 YEAR break from comping :T Wins since October 2019: Emmerdale Studio Tour, CheekyTrip Goody Bag, Stormtrooper Cereal Bowl, 4 books signed by the author, 3 night break in Suffolk worth over £650!, another book, £100 Deichmann Voucher, £50 One4All Voucher, Spy kids Kit, 90s Concert Tix and a Dash Cam!Hopefully more to come!!

Providing going to college doesn't contradict the reasons you're claiming ESA and PIP it shouldn't be a problem in the future.0 -

Thank you hun
I don't think it contradicts but the DWP looks for the tiniest reason to cut benefits!
I'm still the same, if not worse, still taking listed meds etc, guess I'll find out what my fate will be very soon lolBack from a 6 YEAR break from comping :T Wins since October 2019: Emmerdale Studio Tour, CheekyTrip Goody Bag, Stormtrooper Cereal Bowl, 4 books signed by the author, 3 night break in Suffolk worth over £650!, another book, £100 Deichmann Voucher, £50 One4All Voucher, Spy kids Kit, 90s Concert Tix and a Dash Cam!Hopefully more to come!!

I don't know the elegibility criteria, but will you be receiving a Student Loan? If so that will have an effect on Income Based ESA.0

ESA and PIP aren't about your condition and medications, they are about the effect your condition has on your life.
It may well be that nothing changes but it may be that the DWP decides to reassess you as if you are functioning well and going to college then perhaps your condition does not have enough of an impact on your daily life?0 -

It doesn't matter if you receive a student loan or not.
If you could have received a student loan then you will be treated as having that income.
Also you need to tell the DWP that you are starting uni so they will assume you have the loan.
If they can't get you one way, they get you another.0
