New Skirting Boards

Options
Hi I have had a quote for new skirting boards it's a 4 bedroom house so new skirting everywhere including utility room and en suite and downstairs cloakroom but not including stairs price quoted was £1300 inclusive of materials and labour.

Does this sound fair? The skirting would be pre-finished so no need to paint over them. I'm in the West Midlands

That sounds fair, but I would expect to have the skirting boards fixed with screws rather than glued on. Are they gluing the boards on or fixing them properly?
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

TBH No one can answer your question. We have no idea of how many metres have been allowed for or what the spec of the skirting is. It could be 70mm primed mdf which is around £1.20 a metre or it could be 150mm solid oak torus (which is about £15 a metre) and anything in between. So you would need to get other quotes.

if MDF it will still need caulking along the top and the internal scribes so will need painting even if pre finished .MDF skirting is usually only fitted primed
