Poundstretcher Haven't Sent My Voucher :(

Options
Hi All
I won a £50 voucher on a Poundstretcher Facebook competition in early August but I haven't received my prize.

The details of the competition have been deleted from their page even though all of the other competitions they've run are still there. The competition was in regard to the recent TV documentary which ended on a sour note so I'm guessing this is why Poundstretcher have deleted all reference to it from their FB page. Luckily I took screenshots before it was deleted.

There was me and 5 runner ups who won and I know that at least two of the others haven't received their vouchers either. I've sent them a Facebook message but only got an auto reply telling me to contact customer services which I have via email but so far, no reply. What else can I do, if anything? Was looking forward to a shopping spree :(

If you won in "early" August the prize was/is not due until early September unless they said otherwise (30 days).
As you say hardly surprising the post has been pulled (hopefully they kept the details before deleting it), although their chances of survival have to be a bit higher with one of the other pound ones folding-up.
  • Yeah maybe I'm being a bit impatient but I just have a feeling that they're not going to send it. I'll hang fire for a while...thanks :)

I won with them around a year ago, had to chase and chase and chase and in the end I still didn't receive the prize advertised that I had won, and was sent a lower value alternative. I just gave up!

Was also given the "contact customer services" spiel with the original announcement being deleted. (Luckily I saved a screen shot)

It all made sense when I watched that documentary.

I'm hoping you have a much better experience than me!

I was announced as a winner of a £20 voucher with them on Facebook and Twitter in the spring- no direct message, just a post that said something like "the winner is (my name)". No "please DM us your details" or anything. I DMd them saying thanks and what info did they need from me, sent emails, replied to numerous posts on social media and never once got any reply from them to even acknowledge me- like their message boxes just aren't manned. In the end I too gave up. Seems they are happy enough to run endless comps but don't want to actually give out prizes, or don't have a dedicated staff member to organise it. But all the while they are announcing genuine winners names, they are getting great free advertising. You got one step further than me if you actually got someone to take down your address details. It's bizarre for a company to announce a winner but then make no attempt to contact that person or respond when the winner contacts them!

I'm curious as to what this documentary is that you mentioned, sounds interesting??
  • I had a feeling I would hear some stories like this. I did a FB search and several posts came up from people commenting on the Poundstretcher page to say they hadn't received their prizes. This is so bad. I'm wondering if it's worth reporting them to the ASA?

I'm glad you got something in the end even if it wasn't the actual prize you were expecting.

  • I'm sorry you didn't get your prize either. They probably know that most people won't make a fuss over something that is being given for free which is why they get away with it I guess. It's not nice. It's impossible to actually speak to someone at Poundstretcher.

Theres a blogger I follow who worked for them in their digital marketing dept and she wasn't very complimentary about her time at the company either.

I was so cheesed off with how they handled my win I consciously avoid going in there now. May sound dramatic, but it was very frustrating having to chase them and being fobbed off with excuses and then receive a tatty prize from a dusty stock room which wasn't what I had won!
