Good morning one and all,
Crisp morning in Glasgow, wet underfoot and plenty of fog. Would be nice weather for an early morning walk I would think. But alas I am in work. Opting for a longer lie-in instead of the gym for the time being, at least until my back feels better.
I've got a lengthy to-do list, both for work and person life, that I'll feel much better once accomplished. I aim to do it all today, especially as I have no plans this evening after work.
All my finances are in place with YNAB and accounted for. If you remember, for my birthday, TGFW decided to take me to London overnight...well that's this weekend. So I had to pay her £165 in going halfers for travel and the likes. So I've not even accounted for spending money over there!!! Thankfully she knows and understands my financial situation - or so she says. Nonetheless, I am looking forward to the trip, I really am. I just hate having to worry about money.
Anyway...I need a coffee and some painkillers.
HH - Enjoy your catchup time today
ILC - Hope your DM is on the mend soon and isn't in too much discomfort.
Mrs Salad - You inspire me to give a deep clean at my gaff. Keep up the good work!0 -
Morning everyone and thanks for the start Holly, we have the same plans to visit the coast tomorrow and let small dog have a good run on the beach x
High cloud today and tad cooler out there, yesterday was a smashing day so I managed to catch up on all the washing, just have the ironing to do now
Not much planned for today, have a bit of work to do first thing and then will get over to see princess pony, she needs to be wormed but will do that after have ridden her as she gets very grumpy.
Sorry to hear about your Mum ILC hope she is more comfortable now.
Glad you enjoyed your first day RedRuby.
Hope you have a better day today Gers self medicating with shortbread sounds perfectly sensible to me.
Have a good day folks x0 -
Morning
Checking in from my huge bed at the spa hotel coffee in hand. Lovely day yesterday my skin fèels like a babies bottom after the facial and I have a few less knots in my shoulders. May go back in the pool this morning after breakfast .
Will have to head back to reality after lunch and the the running starts so making the most of the last bit of chill.
Have a lovely day all and hope all is well with TAs0 -
Morning (((((((((( hugs)))))))))) if you need one. I am concerned we have not heard from Mrs TA. I do hope everything is ok there.
Dull and cold, There is a breeze which is cooling everything down a bit, its also very grey and the weather station shows rain......glad I got my washing dry yesterday although I had to wash the quilt cover again, a bird had very kindly left me a present on it, by the size I guess it was a pigeon.
Just putting the binding on the quilt, will have to trim it and then sew down the binding.
Sausage and mash tonight with beans. There is enough crumble left for one, so I might have it at lunchtime and do a banana split tonight.0 -
Good morning all!
I haven't been in here in a few months - hope you don't mind a re-appearance!
Not much doing round here today... I have a work meeting a short drive from my house in a bit over an hour. Hopefully it won't be too long, so I can still be home in time for lunch at a reasonable time. I will need to pop out for milk at some point this afternoon, but I'll be good and just take the 50p in my pocket. There's nothing else I need for the moment!
I've just been frugal and cancelled my NOW TV subscription. I've probably had it a year now, but I just wasn't watching it, so I've left it alone for now. I'll probably go back to it when Game of Thrones comes back for the final season (love that show!), but they had nothing else I was interested in, so why give them my money for nothing?! I do still have Netflix, but I watch it nearly every day, and still enjoy the content, so that will stay.
Every little helps at the moment, as money is tight, and probably will be for the next month or so. Just the way it is unfortunately! Highs and lows! I'm having to balance up what is "necessary". I'm going to give up my weekly Costas and turn it into a every 3 weeks, or monthly. Just while things are a little tighter than I'd like.
Generally keeping myself busy in this slow season by working one some organising and decluttering projects around the house. I did the same last summer and got rid of an insane 19(!!) bin bags of stuff. None of which I've missed! I generally feel much better in myself when everything is tidy and organised, but unfortunately, things get on top of me sometimes, and take a while to get back to ship-shape!
Looking forward to "seeing" more of you all around here!Because it's fun to have money!

Looking as though the weather is going to brighten up quite a bit here in Merseyside - better get a quick wash on before it 'changes its mind'
!
Also promised myself a 'furniture shufty around' in the living room - so need to shift my !!!!! into gear. At the moment there's a sofa in front of the HUGE front window and radiator, but I always move it away at this time of year ..................... no point in it sitting in front of the rad when we may need to put c/h on in a few weeks time. Best to be prepared for when 'that time' comes around.
Taken a 'chilli-ish beef dish' out of freezer (frozen leftovers from a meal last week) - will have it with pasta and garlic bread for evening meal!
Today will probably be another No Spend Day for me .................... not sending OH anywhere at all today. He's barred from the shopping after yesterday's 'financial fiasco' :rotfl:!

Morning all, flying one from me.I have been absent from posting but still trying to read.I've had the DGC quite a bit over the last week, and DGS was here yesterday and today. We'd had 3 games of a board game he likes, done some painting and watched a few dinosaur programmes before 8.30 and now he's bored.I had planned to go to the park,I think there is something on, but it's a bit drizly and wet still. We went in town yesterday to the museum and aquarium, that visit lasted about 10 minutes as the museum is having a big refurb so was a bit limited. In addition the road atthe top near the park is having roadworks for 4 weeks,(certainly needs it though) and the bus is being diverted so its a good bit further away.
When we got home we made dinosaur shortbreads, and he took some home for Mummy and stepdad ,he's looking forward to starting in Reception tomorrow.
Our new next door neighbours had an upsetting weekend as their little dog got out and got knocked down on the main road. He was meant to be having an op today but the little lad came to collect a parcel I took in and said the orthopaedic vet says it might not be needed now and they would decide this morning. He's only about 12 months old,a giddy Jack Russell that they think the world of,he squeezed through a little gap in the hedge in the garden
I've put a boneless lamb joint in the sc to make it easier tonight, just use frozen veg and do some spuds later.
Hugs to those with poorly OH ,or their own health problems, hope Steves appointment is ok Snoozer.
Spa sounds lovely and relaxing Nelski
Glad yesterday went well RR

Grrr, We've just had a parking penalty charge for the hospital - I paid by phone and have the texts and the bank statement to prove it thankfully. We could do without the added stress of sorting it out though.0

I had a grocery delivery earlier this morning so have cooked some portions of beef and mushroom korma to freeze for dd and sil and this afternoon plan to cook a beef stew and do the same with that. I have been making them a lot of cottage pies and lasagnes and think they are desperate for a change. I enjoyed the three days I spent with dd and baby while sil was away and hope I was able to help a bit.
I need to pop to the post office soon as I need some money and we no longer have a bank in the town (used to have three). Someone is coming this afternoon to help with the garden and I want to do a tidy round later as dd, sil and baby might be popping in tomorrow morning.
Speky
Better to worry about money now so you don't get a nasty shock later and you are being very sensible.
Hugs and best wishes to Mr and mrs TA.
Can't seem to get myself moving so going to have a quick bite to eat for lunch then freeze the kormas and start on the beef stew.
Hugs to all0 -
