Partners name spelt wrong on offer...

As the title says, his name is spelt wrong.

We are due to exchange in the next couple of weeks and concerned this may derail these plans.

I've contacted the bank and they have informed the relevant department and said they will get onto changing it.

Anyone have any experience of this or know what the procedure is on the banks end?

Presume on the Mortgage Offer?
Not Natwest was it? I took out a mortgage with them once and they managed to send out 7 wrong offers before they got everything correct. It was painful, every time the offer arrived with a different error!

Just tell them there is an error in the spelling of his name and they should reissue the mortgage papers to you and your solicitor. Just make sure you check the revised offer again to ensure all is correct.

The procedure is that someone at the bank will open your file, fix the name, and hit the "reissue offer" button.

How long they take to do that depends on their workload. If you tell us which lender it is then someone might know.

Barclays Truely fed up. Today I have the attitude of "no one seems to be able to do their job properly", with !!!! ups from our solicitor too!

How long did yours take to come back edited each time?
