Barclaycard new address rules

in Credit cards
Hi, just wondering if anyone else is having an issue with Barclaycard and their latest ruling on addresses. I live in Spain and in our area post is not delivered to the residential address, so I purchase a secure P.O. on an annual basis to receive mail. Even thought I’ve lived here of over 11 years and Barclaycard have corresponded to me at the P.O. address, suddenly they are talking of closing my account due to the postal address going to a Postal Box. I’ve tried to get them to ‘drop’ box number ( the handling Post Room can deal with that). But unless I can provided documentation without that number on it, they won’t do it. Whilst I want to obey the rules, I am disappointed they can not accommodate my address.

If you live outside of the UK, then why do you have a UK credit card still?
They are not obliged to supply a UK credit card to a non-UK resident.0 -
Seems like a good time to clear the balance and close the account.0

Is this a Spanish Barclaycard or a UK one? Barclaycard used to issue in Spain via Barclays Bank of Spain - not sure if they still do.0

I have a Uk bank account. It’s a Uk card.0

Thank you for your reply. I have a Uk bank account and therefore can have a Uk card. If you cannot give a polite reply, please do not contribute to this thread.0

Polite reply?
You mean truthful reply?0 -
As above, it's the truth. Every card has the "UK resident" requirement, and you are not a UK resident.0

I believe that your understanding is incorrect. From the horses mouth.....
"While our cards can be used in most countries in the world, our terms and conditions make it clear that customers should have a valid UK address. Although we can support overseas addresses on a temporary basis, our accounts are not designed to be registered to permanent overseas addresses."0
