DRO Due to come off

Hi
I have a debt relief order which finishes at the end if September. From what I understand it automatically comes off of the DRO register three months after the finish date. What I am wondering is, if I apply for PPI after the completion date is there a chance that the DRO can still be revoked or does it end on the date it finishes.

Hi,
Come off what ?
Do you mean you will have completed your 12 month moratorium period successfully ?
You would not lose the money, but you would have your DRO revoked.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Yes, once completed and discharged, you can re-claim PPI.
This is because assets do not vest in the trustee, in a DRO, unlike in bankruptcy.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Its after 12 months, you remain on the insolvency register for another 3 months after that, and the entry will be visible on your credit file for a further 5 years.
Once the 12 months are successfully completed, you can start your claim, you are aware you can complain yourself for free arn`t you ?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hi
Yes I intend to use the tool on MSE!0 -
Hi Woody
A word of caution, if you reclaim PPI shortly after your DRO has finished (your DRO ends 12 months after it was made) it is possible that it could lead to your DRO being revoked. Each case would be judged on it's own merits.

Hi Susie
Thanks for the information.
How can that be if the moratorium period is 12 months, surely there has to be a point when you have 'done your time' ?0 -
Hi again Woody
It would be for the Official receiver (OR) to decide whether they felt the PPI claim was something you should have made prior to the DRO being made. If they thought it was then it could lead to your DRO being revoked, even after it has been completed. They will look at each case individually.
Best wishes
Susie

As long as you get it started before next Augusts deadline, wait till its off the register, then complain.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
