Anyone got a click clack waste for which they can get replacement seals?

I started another thread, in which I called the fitting a 'pop up' but click clack is apparently the most common name. In that thread I was asking if anyone knew where I could get the little black rubber seal that stops the water running out when the unit is depressed. I ended by saying I'd try one from a particular bathroom fittings supplier. That failed, I'm afraid. The item received was flimsy and badly made and didn't look like a good replacement anyway. So I sent it back. Here is the thread if anyone is interested.

My seal has now gone so hard that it has actually split. I'm thinking of replacing the whole click clack unit but I'm trying to find one that I can get replacement seals for, when I need them. I'm failing at this too. I can find click clacks that seem reasonable quality/price but can't source a seal for them and I can find replacement seals but not the click clacks that they match. So frustrating.

So, on the assumption that there aren't thousand of people routinely replacing whole click clack units when the seal goes - can anyone suggest a make/model for which replacement seals are readily available?

Ta.

I've got the click clack wastes and the seals are fine but the mechanisms on all of them are starting to fail.

I plan to replace them all with the 'flip'type wastes which will hopefully be more reliable. Still relies on an o ring though.

Do you have an oldfashioned ironmongers anywhere near you?

If so, try taking your seal there and asking them if they have a replacement.

Also try Homebase and B&Q - both of these sell the seals, as does Screwfix.

Try Amazon, I got some from there not quite as thick as the original but the other dimensions were the same and they work.

    They can be equally problematic..
I had click clack type installed in 2 new rooms, started to play up in 1st couple of weeks, getting stiff, difficult to use

So got them swapped to flip type from screwfix (with a seal - apparently there are some that don't ?), now these flip ones are very temperature dependant, if it nice and warm or the water very hot the flap can be fully closed
otherwise the flap will not go down flat, most of the time its enough to seal it other times water will leak away
Difficult for my elderly mum to get it to seal with them

With hindsight the ones which are pulled down / pushed up by the lever behind the tap might have been a better idea ?

Or maybe there are better quality flip flap ones ?

Yes, thanks. I'm going to do that today.

Actually I've now managed to find one called Pura from 'bathroomspareparts' and they sell the seals too. They call it a 'clicker waste' so that's why my internet searches aren't very successful - too many different names for the same thing. Another site calls them 'click-clack'. (Oh and there's 'pop up'). Rant over.

If the plumbers supplies can't help I'll probably replace the whole unit with a Pura one, now that I know I can get replacement seals.

Just tried the local plumbers suppliers. The (friendly) chap at the counter actually chuckled when I showed him the top part of the clicker and the broken seal. He quickly said 'nope' to my asking if he had a replacement. Then he showed me a replacement click clack unit that he sells and I asked if he sold replacement seals for that. 'Nope'

He agreed with me that the lack of replacements for these devices was a very common problem. Goodness knows what happens to people who are not DIY savvy - paying a fortune to plumbers, I suppose.

Hey ho. I'll go for a new Pura fitting.

I had one supplied with a basin without the rubber seal, I was skeptical but it does work similar to this:-

I appreciate this is an old thread but mine has just gone and I have found this as a spare which I think will do the job without needing to replace the whole mechanism
