Expensive solicitors bill!
Comments
-
Solicitors seem mostly unable to produce clear/easy to read bills - it's not rocket science. These people read Latin ... and old wobbly handwriting ... they should be able to produce an easy to understand bill.0

I think what aggravates me more so, is that the contracts and paperwork they sent through are littered with errors! Simple things like thinking we're buying part of a shared ownership, when we're not, we're buying 100% share and they knew this from the start. It's basic stuff that's simply not been checked through thoroughly. This is why I'm so reluctant to accept their bill for what it is.0

the prices you have quoted are over double what were paying, and they have been great / no issues.
Short of questioning the price you have been given (based on it being vastly different from first seen) i dont see much of what you can do. Are there no satellite offices local that you can call into to speak with someone f2f?0 -
this is exactly what i mean to say.:beer:PasturesNew wrote: »Solicitors seem mostly unable to produce clear/easy to read bills0 -
Usually when a solicitor quotes, they would quote their fee only with disbursements and VAT to pay on top. This is standard.
If you take off the disbursements from the bill, does the amount come to the correct amount that they initially quoted, or similar?
Does your client care letter state disbursements included or disbursements on top?Debt Totals July 2019::

Last year I helped my son buy a house. We used a local solicitor of our choice. Solicitors fee £513, searches £128, LR £95, loan contract £90.
We had four visit to the Solicitors office and he had to pay stamp duty.0 -
Our buyer was a complete pillock which meant extra correspondence and work. The solicitor rang me to tell me the quote had been exceeded when we got to that point, which was before exchange and asked me if I wanted her to continue to chase and also what to get the EA doing more off to keep her costs down. Without that I'd have been pretty annoyed when the bill came through.Officially in a clique of idiots0
