buying a new laptop screen

hey guys,

i was lucky enough to get given a laptop (yay!) as my friend didn't require it anymore as he broke the screen. its a sony vaio vgn-n11m and the screen is a 15.4" wxga (1280x800) x-black lcd.

i have had a look around and can't really find where i could buy a new screen from - any help would be muchly appreciated :)

unless you are very lucky and can find a cheap second hand one on ebay, its not worth repairing, they cost too much.

you could always use an external screen.

there are a couple on ebay for about 100 quid delivered, though they come from usa or hong kong and would rather buy from someone in britain

i think 100 is a good budget as essentially ill have a nice laptop for £100! the laptop itself is going to my girlfriend as her computer keeps dying and she keeps stealing my macbook! booo.. all she needs from the laptop is for uni work so it fulfills that role - though she has just got into second life ha!

i think what i was looking for was whether anyone here is in the screen business or has a mate who is and do some good prices :)
