Old Style Daily Monday 3rd September 2018

Options
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

    Morning everyone

I had a lovely day yesterday with my brother, sister in law and nephew. We went out for lunch and then had a wander around the local craft shops.

As the forecast is good I have got a load in the washing machine, and will get some hand washing done as well.

Later this morning I am going with my neighbour to her chiropody appointment, which will no doubt be followed by the usual coffee and cake in town on our way home. There is a new tea room opened that she would like to try because she has heard good reviews from her friends.

TA I hope that you and Mr TA are coping ok.

    Nannywindow have a good holiday.

Snoozer at least you know what you are dealing with now. Hopefully the consultant will put a good treatment plan in place when you see him.

Nelski I haven’t seen the new James programme yet, I’ll have to watch it now. Enjoy your spa day.

Dp1 I’m glad that you enjoyed your holiday.

I hope that you all have a good day.
  • Morning all and thank you for starting the thread Hollyharvey.

Been awake for a couple of hours as I managed to get tangled up in the duvet and overheated.

Today I need to sort out my travel for next weekend, I tried yesterday but need to use OH'S laptop rather than this tablet, for the bigger screen.

Snoozer, I google that form of lymphoma and hope that your husband responds to the treatments available.

Hope everyone has as good a day as possible.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

    Good morning everyone :hello:
Up with the larks again this morning but I don't mind as I had a fairly early night last night. Steve will be getting up in an hour as he has to go back to work today after having 9 days off. It has been so lovely having him home and it was great to see him relaxed and enjoying his break without stressing about work. Roll on retirement I say :).

I have decided that Lee's home education will start next Monday so we have a week to get a workable timetable sorted out and any extra books or equipment that we will need. Lilly goes back to college today and hopefully will get her act together this term. I need to help Phoebe write a CV and send it to the different agencies in town. She is still waitressing but that work is very much seasonal so she can't support herself on that. Busy, busy, busy week ahead .
I spent a whole day knitting yesterday as I am making a halloween wreath. I made a pumpkin and a mummy and knitted half the wreath cover for the polystyrene ring. My shoulder was quite sore when I went to bed but it is going to look very cute when it is finished. I've also knitted a scarf for myself for the colder months ahead and I'm very pleased with how that turned out as well. I like to have my hands busy in the evenings when I am watching the tv so I am either knitting or cross stitching.

I will see Steve off to work and then I will clean the fridge and sort it out as I have some shopping coming between 8 and 9 am. It's mostly stuff for Steve's packed lunches. He had a little moan to me about there being nothing for him to take for snacks today. I expressed my surprise as there were quite a lot of different bits and pieces the last time I looked but he then confessed to scoffing them whilst watching late night B movies :rotfl:. Oh well, I will restock the fridge and hopefully he will be a little more restrained :D.

I think I will make a curry for tea tonight as we still have loads of chicken breasts in the freezer. Lee wants to make some cupcakes so I will cook the curry early and then the kitchen is free for him to get on with them. Tomorrow will be chilli nachos which is always a firm favourite here.

Well, I am off to put the kettle on, hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

    Morning All

Lovely sky this morning, hope it's a good day as I'm going to put the washing out. Yesterday wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, the weather was warm and dry in Perth but no sunshine.

I had a lovely day with DS1 and the DGC, they are a joy although quite lively! We went to the park, had lunch and played some games, I'm not sure the little one likes me that much, he just covers me up in a blanket and tells me to go to sleep!

Another week ahead, hopefully not as busy as last week, my housework has slipped somewhat so hope to start on that tonight, the upstairs bathroom is particularly in need of some attention!

Hope all's well with you all, have a happy Monday, take care. XX

    Morning everyone

hollyharvey - thanks for starting us off x

Hugs to those that want/need one x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

Misty start to the day here, but forecast to burn off and sun shining later, was glorious here again yesterday, the same today would be good as I have a basket of washing to peg out - will do that shortly.

DH up and gone to work stupid early, moaning about how ill he is, I told him yesterday evening if he felt that ill to ring his boss to say he wasn't going in, but he said he was going, he's gone, whether he'll stay there all day is another matter, I've provided him with as many meds as he can take. I know I don't sound very sympathetic but he's not to anyone else that's poorly, you reap what you sow! Dinner yesterday was roast pork, roasties, cauli cheese, carrots, green beans, broc, peas, yorkshires and gravy, I had swede too and syn free gravy with mine, lovely it was, he ate the meat then left everything else, then asked for me to make some HM egg fried rice for him 3 hours later - as he then "fancied" that instead. For a short while yesterday afternoon he did look rough but he spent the day either on the sofa watching tv or in bed, he went back to bed for approx an hour and a half and said he felt much better he did look it to be fair. I can't do with the constant wingeing and moaning!

Dinner tonight will be either fish, chips and beans/veg or gammon, egg and chips - fish most possibly.

Back to work today, I'm expecting a busy day as it's the beginning of the month.

    Keep safe and well x

    Morning all

It seems a lot cooler this morning but is meant to be a nice day later on, off to work for me and im starting back in my new role today as manager for a training caf! training people with learning difficulties I am very excited its quite a challenging job but there will be no members of the public from now on its just a clients caf! so less pressure that way.

We took Pup out for her long walk yesterday and we were walking along in a kind of tunnel of trees, she had disappeared into the undergrowth and all of a sudden flushed out a pheasant and gave chase, the poor bird took to its wings and was flying straight towards OH and I at full pelt with a tiny dog going about 100 miles per hour after it :rotfl: Evie had a mouthful or feathers which she was spitting out as she ran along, the bird landed but we managed to call her away and it ran off and hid again ( it was fine no damage just missing a few tail feathers) , it was so funny and Evie was so proud of herself, that's the Jack Russell coming out in her !!

Jacket spud for dinner tonight with ham and pate and salad, just need to shove the jackets in after work.

Camelot I am so glad you are getting to see your Grandchildren again xx

Have good days all and take care xx

    Morning :)

    Nan have a lovely holiday

TAhope you had a good ish weekend

Managed to get most of my prep done yesterday but I have a habit of getting bored prepping half way through need to check that again tomorrow night.

Mad week.. mix of fun and work. Today I'm off for my spa night so I was up at 5 packing my bag. Stayed at this place a few months ago with the book club girls and it was very luxurious so when they sent through this deal it was a no brainer. My friend and I intend to make the most of it so going to head there for lunch then spa all afternoon with facials and massage then dinner tonight and an overnight in a suite really not bad for £60 I feel. Probably use the pool again tomorrow then pootle back after lunch...a fine 24hrs :D

Asda arriving at 8 with some supplies for the room and my lunch stuff for the week. They had some good offers on cold meats so stocked up.

Best get on enjoy your day everyone

Thanks for the thread Holly and hugs to all those in need.
I've been up since 5ish, went to make a cuppa and the milk had solidified, it was within date so I'm not sure why.
I had to get dressed and drive to the garage to get some more.
We moved again yesterday, hopefully we can stay here for the full two weeks.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.
  • Good morning all

Thank you for starting us off Holly

    Hope TA's are ok

I now have a humax freesat box instead of sky tv, seems really good.

Not sure what we are doing today, maybe make the best of this good weather and go out.

Hope you all have a good day
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.

Yesterday was fairy rubbish day for us, we were both very tired and down - I suppose it's to be expected really. Anyway, hopefully today will be a bit better.

I must try to do some housework before the house becomes a bearpit, although I keep telling myself it doesn't matter in the scheme of things. I'm on the last lap of a baby quilt I'm making although I haven't got a recipient for it. It's made from Hungry Caterpillar fabric and is one of a pair - one has the caterpillar as a centre and one has the butterfly. I'll just have to wait until someone I know has twins!

I hope you're ok TA and Lamewolf as well, everyone else have a good day.
