ZIP drive will not shut up

I rebooted a machine at work due to everything running slow.
Anyway that was about an hour and half ago and the zip drive is still making noises like it it is being accessed. I have shut down the software used for making back ups on to this drive.
I have no idea why it is still making noises I have not told it to make a backup unless it is just checking the media.
How do I make it stop as it is driving me mad :rotfl:
