Basic photo editing software needed - pref free.

As I am flipping useless at making decisions I need some sort of photo editing thing so that I can isolate the door in the photo of a house, put it beside a picture of a glass side panel and print it out.
(I'm getting new doors and windows and need to decide on a few things so seeing a picture is easier for me to visualise.)
Is there anything free that I can download that is easy to use?
