If you are getting the freehold for the whole building won't you be responsible for all future repairs and maintenance for the entire building going forward? ...and for getting other tenants to contribute their share of the cost....and for insuring the whole building. Your posts don't seem to indicate that you are up for that?0

I'd suggest heeding the excellent advice of the people you don't want to listen to. Just because they aren't giving you the answer you'd like/wanted you shouldn't tell people go stop posting. Rant over...
So, personal point of view, what you've said is why people get surveys to highlight things like this. The fact your survey says probably un-mortgagable is something I'd walk away from, it looks like they have deliberately covered things up from you. This is a project you'd be buying and you've stated that's not what you want to buy.0 -
Since you don't want a project, and cannot rely on the quality of any work undertaken by the vendor (who hasn't shown any past inclination to do it despite letting the property get close to an unmortgageable state, then walking away briskly is your only sane option.0
