car renewal insurance 21 days before has NOT WORKED

Hi Martin,

I was pleased to see and read about your advice regarding the 21 day period for getting renewal quotes on my car insurance.

I always shop around extensively and have for the past few years ended up staying with the current insurer because I have always managed to get lower quotes from them online and then ring up and get the new lower price quote put onto the existing renewal.

Last year and sadly this year this has not worked, so I tried the 21 day suggestion and I have got absolutely nowhere at all I have tried all of your recommended companies and comparison sites sadly my existing renewal for multicar still comes out top...

Im at that point again where I have had enough of sitting at the computer getting leg ache etc anyone else suffering this? Absolutely fed up. Thanks.:(

  • Why are you fed up if your existing renewal is cheapest? Sounds like you are getting the best deal for no hassle.

If all else has failed it might be worth trying a local broker (not Swinton)

(Bad backs are often associated with sitting too long at the computer - your leg problem you asked about may be associated with something else?? Try the health & beauty forum rather than this motoring forum for best advice)

Is this a repeat thread? I'm sure I posted here asking who Martin is.

If someone has given you advice, you need to go back to them rather than post on an internet forum. Or is this a letter to them that you want advice on?

Didn't work for me either. Got some quotes at 21 days, because of whatever reasons never bought them at the time. I remembered to do it 5 days before the due date, clicked on the buy on the quote I got in an email at the 21 days, it then went off and recalculated quotes and I saw a 10% drop. So it would appear this advice has as much worth as a chocolate fireguard.
