Since theyre made in Italy there should be an EU source youd think0 -
Well, the old plastic ones I've had for years are back in use now; they seem to be better than the new ones (I've just put out a line of washing and the penultimate one snapped.)
I've found exactly the same. I have some old plastic ones from Lidl that I've been using for about a year, bought some new ones last month also from Lidl, the new ones keep snapping. I have some others on the line that I've had for years, still going strong.
I leave mine out, life is too short for taking pegs off the line every time I use them!Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I buy cheap ones - and my current pegs are 10-20 years old.
My pegs are always inside between uses as I put up the drier to hang the clothes, then take it down when I've finished.0 -
Wooden all the way. Buy ones with a decent spring, and I doubt you'll ever have to buy more pegs again.
I've never understood why people leave their pegs on the line all the time. Surely you have to unpeg them to take the clothes off the line, then peg them back on again? And ditto when you're hanging more clothes out, you have to unpeg them then peg the clothes on? And then surely the next time you're pegging out all the pegs will be in the wrong place so you're having to move them round? Also, after a winter of not using the line, I like to give mine a good wipe - would be a right faff if there were pegs on it and also the pegs must get dirty over time.
I was hanging washing out for my step-daughter a few days ago - she has plastic pegs that stay out all the time. I must have snapped 5 of them!!No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -
Don't leave your pegs on the line, spiders hide in them!0

I am using my Granny's pegs and peg bag - she died 15 years ago and she was 90 and claimed to have had them for at least 40 years.
They are lovely solid wooden ones with sturdy springs! Along with a few well worn "dolly" pegs too.
I bring them in between uses and hope to pass them down to my daughter! Yep we are sad in our family hahaha0 -
Wooden pegs here, bring them in every time, because the line can be wound into the case. Addis IIRC.0

They'd have to be ENORMOUS pegs to hide the spiders I've just found lurking in my home! They were monsters.
But, you did make me laugh.
I use wooden spring pegs and some coloured spring pegs. I have a little plastic basket containing the pegs which I can hook over the washing line as I peg the washing out. When I bring the washing back inside, I put the pegs back into the basket and bring those back inside too.
The pegs (cheap and cheerful from Wilko or B&M) last for years.
The spiders on the other hand last a few seconds once I've spotted them. I had to wrap a magazine around a rolling pin to (kill) deal with the latest spider..........it was so BIG.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride.
