  • Hi
My wife grandparents has give us money as a gift ,they received a letter from the solicitor, who we dealing with.
They wanted ID, they have driving license n BT phone bill but it's says they wanted a bank statement but they haven't got a bank statement because it's from their saving account. Can anyone help me?
  • My father-in-law gave us a gift towards our deposit and he doesn't have a current account, only a savings account. He went to this bank and the printed him out a record of money going in to and out of the savings account and I sent that to the solicitor and explained the situation and this was fine with them.

Building society savings account? Copy of passbook?

Savings accounts do provide statements, not just current accounts.

  • hi, just out of interest, why did you apply through a broker rather than Halifax directly?
  • We have got the statement n sent to the solicitors, we have got a date for our valuation on the 27th September nexts week. Everything has done, just waiting for the valuation to be done.
  • Hello,
Me and my wife put our first application through a broker to natwest and got declined in 2 days. There may had been some issues on how the data was input by the broker.
Then we applied with Halifax, they have booked in valuation in 10 days.

    What are the chances?
