Which share dealing account for US shares

A number of years ago I purchased US shares through TD Waterhouse (as was). I was naive and didn't do a lot of research.
The shares are held in USD in an Interactive Investor trading account. Wile I'm happy with the service, I feel I am throwing money away with the £90 annual charge.
I am looking to invest in funds (around £10,000) and want to sort out my my shareholding while making a decision on which platform for a stocks and shares ISA.
I have done a bit of research but it would be good to get some pointers/advice at this point. Eg. I see that HL's Fund and Share account has no charges for holding shares but they need to be held in GBP. Am I limited because the holding is in USD or would it be simple to convert them to GBP?

The very cheapest platform that I have found that gives access to US markets is Fineco. You could ask them if you could hold your shares on their platform. However, they do not offer Funds (only shares, ETFs and Investment Trusts) and cannot provide an ISA wrapper.0

Thanks, will look into this. Happy to have the share holding with one provider and ISA wrapper with another if need be.0 -
I've used Etoro and HL to invest in foreign Shares. Etoro is definitely an easy way to invest in USA based stocks and other instruments. I'm not that experienced in trading but the charges seem fair compared to HL on my small investments and Etoro benefits from easy to use Stop-Loss and Take-Profit, including trailing stop loss which I think is great. Have a look at their fees structure yourself.

Thank you but I don’t see anything about transferring in holdings from elsewhere. Same with Fineco. Will need to contact them both.0 -
