Butlin’s

Please does anyone know the best time (i.e. how far in advance) to book a break to get the best prices?
Also, does anyone know where the different types of accommodation are located at the Minehead resort? I’ve just got back from staying in a silver twin room with my son and when I booked thought it would be really nice. However, it was really small and not quite what I was expecting. Basically just not as nice as I’d have liked it to have been.
I’m looking at booking an apartment next time as my husband will be coming too.
Thanks

  • Hiya, we always go to Butlins between Christmas and New Year. I find that booking about a month (or even less) in advance gets the best deals.

We always go for a Gold Apartment. They are not big but very clean and quite modern plus with Gold you get your own dedicated check in area and check in early and you get a kitchen and living room so you can make your own sandwiches etc. We always go for premium dining. The gold apartments tend to be quite close to the entertainment area.

i thought best prices were when booking on park before you leave and you get a price guarantee too ?

Aren't they currently guaranteeing that if you book now for next year they'll refund you of the price is advertised cheaper later?

I've seen good deals if you wait until the week before you want to go, but that wasn't during school holidays so I don't know if it's the same.

We always stay in the hotel and love booking the buffet breakfast. The rooms are pretty good, and have a fridge and kettle while the lift lobby had a microwave (useful for sterilizing bottles and heating baby food).
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!
  • We usually book whilst we're on site so about a year in advance, but my sister in law got a very similar deal to us booking the exact same holiday on black friday last year.

Unless you want extras that may sell out I would book as close to your holiday date as you can, but keep an eye out for deals.

Hi. So glad I found this through a google search. Thanks so much for sharing the code. Love Butlins.
  • Been going Butlins Skegness once or twice every year for 8 years now.

Don't book online, the best prices are always when you call up and speak to someone. Don't book gold apartments if you're going in the winter (Skegness). They are the furthest away. In my opinion, silver apartments are just fine for families, but rooms are a bit too small.

    Take plenty of money!

About 6 years since we last went, but we went for a few years running, having a 3 bed appt for me, DH, 2 kids and my Nan. We always booked silver accom , but one year they upgraded us for free to Gold (because they had no silver ground floor appts and Nan couldn't manage stairs) and I didn't think Gold gave you much more than what silver did tbh.
  • We always stop in the caravans at Minehead as so much more space and all detached so less noise from neighbours. Mostly always cheaper than Butlins see https://ebay.to/2PrlhRF for last minute bargains
