  • Good morning chums back home and up with the birds this morning I have already been and done my big shop in Aldis and was pleased it only came to £34.66 and from what I bought it will do me a good two weeks along with what I brought home from the holiday left overs :)

One machine load has been done, and nother to go on But the housework can wait until tomorrow

This afternoon I intend to put my feet up and relax and watch a bit of TV while I make a start on the 42 toy knitted balls that my DGD has promised her friends (but I will get paid for them at least :))

I made 6 before my holiday and when DGD came down for a few days to our holiday house with the baby she was very pleased with them ,but made the mistake of posting them on her social media baby play site that she uses and I had within minutes orders for 7 more sets :):):)

I am also in the middle of knitting a 3D blankey for my DGS wife out in New York and it has to be finished by mid October as my eldest DD is going out there for a visit and will take the Christmas presents with her. So my needles will be clicking away over the next few weeks :)

Still it keeps me out of mischief at least :):)

Nice to be away for a break but also nice to be home again and had a lovely nights sleep in my own bed again ,nothing like it is there :):)

Hope everyone has a good day and <<hugs >> for the poorly and sad amongst you

  • Good Morning people

Hope everybody has 'happy plans' sorted for the weekend and that it goes smoothly for you all!

I can see that some of you have 'carer responsibilities', so wishing all goes especially well for you - I know how weekends can upset routines :).

Thanks to some good weather this week, I've not got any laundry to sort out - very unusual for me!

We have a 'Welcome the New Minister' evening at Church this evening, so MY evening meal will be 'sort of' catered for; though I'll take something for myself as I'm Coeliac and can't always rely on there being something 'Gluten Free' available. Lots of salad stuff in fridge at the moment, so will use some of that and just pull out a frozen pack of roast beef from the freezer to go with it :).

I DO need to provide something 'desserty' to take with me this evening, so will be googling for some recipes - I have frozen pastry, a jar of Nutella and some mini marshmallows hanging around and I'm sure that there's something that I could make with those. Doesn't matter if I can't eat any of it - I've got some Chocolate Rice Cakes to take for myself ;)!

There's some Whoopsied Smoked Haddock Loin in the freezer that OH will probably have with 'ageing' baby potatoes and Green Beans (freezer) - he's only allowed to eat smoked fish when I'm not home cos I despise the smell of the stuff. I don't mind buying it for him, but he eats it alone :rotfl:!

    Have a good day y'all :j!
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Bright morning, but the autumn chill is in the air. CA has been and washed OH, chatty chap, we have had male CA's for the past couple of days. Tomorrow I have to manage myself.

Shoved the Dyson round the carpet. I love it but it is very heavy, wondering about one of the rechargeable ones. I would have to find a plug for the charging unit though....hummm......

Quick freezer audit done and the next weeks menu sorted mostly from the freezer. Will sort out next week on Wednesday before I go shopping again.

Gardener was here yesterday, back grass looks really good, although it needs a lot more rain to fill in the cracks. They are very gradually getting smaller. I need to sort through the plants and find places for them to go in the next time he comes. Also need to dig up the hosta which is under the lavatera.

Will be taking OH out for a walk shortly.....

Supper tonight, gammon, eggs and tomato with fried bread. banana for dessert.

    Morning all

Its a beautiful bright day here and I still have no washing line so cant hang out any washing, it should be reinstated once the patio has finished hopefully Tues or Wed so we will just have to manage for now.

OH it putting my kitchen back today :T which is hugely exciting, I wont have to be walking on a concrete floor and I will have kick boards again :D

The cleaner came yesterday and did a brilliant job, she has said though that its not a two hour a week job but a three hour one, we cannot afford three hours every week so im trying to think of ways to cut the time down, for instance she wont need to do dd's room each week as there is no one sleeping in there ! And maybe the conservatory wont need doing weekly as we don't spend much time there either. How long do you think to clean through a three bed house ??

TA glad you had a comfortable night xx

Gers hope mum is ok xx

    Have good days all xx

...Am off to Burghley HT tomorrow with some friends from the yard, it’s an early start as we want to get there for just after 8am but am looking forward to seeing all the big names of 3 day eventing and their lovely horses :)

I saw a photo of Zara Tindall the other day, back in the saddle 7 weeks after giving birth...I think she was hoping to get herself ready for Burleigh. Have a fab horsey day xx

Another day another dollar, I wish, as there seems to be more going out than coming in .
This morning we have been to DD's house to see the birthday boy and give him his other presents. He's now online with Mr Fix It, gaming away :rotfl:
We also visited the caravan to put some more things in it and take the cover off, then we did a round trip via the petrol station to fill up the tank.

This afternoon I shall be cleaning, sorting and tiding things away. Mr Fix It will clean the car if I can get him off the xbox :D
I have already had a senior moment as I put the WM on but forgot to put in any powder or softener :doh:so I've had to wash the load all over again :(. I also need to make a fruity rice salad to take to DD's as we have been invited to the DGS BBQ tea :j. ( He went bowling with his friends yesterday )
Is it just me or are there quite a few people missing from here ? Elona, Speky, Tru, Meanmarie etc. Or have I had another senior moment ? :rotfl:

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday
Hugs to all the poorly, their carers, the worried or anyone having a hard time with life in general at present. Take care.

    nan xx

  • Good afternoon, from a lovely sunny, warm & blue skies East London :D

Thanks for starting us off Holly :T. Afternoon tea sounds wonderful & all the better for being spur of the moment :)

AoD, my DSis’s boy can spend up to 2 hours in the shower  This was especially galling for my DSis when she lived in France as her water was on meter & she was always fairly frugal with her usage :T which is why I am puzzled as to why she is so profligate with practically everything else :o

TA, glad that things are settling down a bit. The ‘shower scene’ did make me smile:) Hope things continue to improve.

nmlc, reasonably productive days are great aren’t they - so I hope you patted yourself on the back :D

Gers, hope your DM gets her appetite back. I would enjoy the ‘contracted lifestyle’ while it lasts :)

Nelski, glad that your manic day went well& that you enjoyed the lakes :)

Camelot, how lovely to be appreciated - sounds like your DD has a good’un :)

snoozer, why do people not listen to the voice of experience? I really hope you can ‘spirit away’ the puppy & give her the attention she deserves - perhaps you could rope in the 9 yo :)

Lainey, hope you enjoy Burghley :)

Jackie, you are definitely a demon knitter :D I can picture you sitting with the blanket & loads of toy balls & wool :) - do you have a rocking chair :D

Ollebeak, sounds like it will be a lovely evening :)

Csarina, hope you enjoy your gardening:) we were lucky that we had no big cracks & the rain we have been having has greened up the front & back lawns nicely.

redruby, how wonderful to get your kitchen back :T & good luck with the cleaner:)

nannywindow, at least it was an easily sorted senior moment :D We have been missing a few people (so not a senior moment :D) - RL has obviously got in the way.

I got up very late  but have got my ‘arris in gear, stripped the bed, one wm load drying on whirligig, 2nd load chugging away & will be out within the next ten minutes, 3rd load will go in but the 4th load will probably be done tomorrow. Had another go at the airing cupboard & am donating the 2nd set of summer bedding to cs, also one more towel plus I have bitten the bullet & am donating a skirt & top to cs - never really enjoyed wearing it (only kept because it was bought as a result of a competition prize :D. )

So (((hugs))) all round & hope everyone enjoys the rest of their Saturday :)

  • No Mrs SD I wish I had just managed one of the blooming balls today and halfway through the next, still its handy for using up odd lengths and loooks very effective, plus apparently my DGGD adores playing with them as they are quite soft and brightly coloured My DGD was a a nursery nurse and TA at a special needs school and is really into sensory playthings for the baby as she says touch and feel for babies is a great learning tool.
Wish she could learn how to knit though :) she said she only knows me as a knitter and all her friends Mums don't bother and would rather buy plastic bits and pieces ,yet her friends love the idea of knitted toys. This afternoon my DGS was making play mats with laminated pouches and bottles with sparkly bits in for the babies sensory box, beats lego I guess, and a lot easier when you stand on it :)

I think I must be a reincarnation of the knitters by the guillotine :):)

    have a good weekend chums

    JackieO xx

P.S. I dropped a little something in the post office this morning for you Nelski hope you enjoy them xx
