Anybody ever managed to withdraw from a Local Authority Building Control application and go private?
Personally, I'd rather have a pedantic stickler for the rules than someone who'd sign it off for the sake of it, at least you know it'll be spot on to the book.

I think I was wrong about it being an insulation issue. I don’t fully understand it to be honest!
If you are getting U value calculations done in respect of bifolding doors I wonder if it is the area of glazing that is the problem. You can usually get round it with an area weighted calculation or a SAP calculation. That does seem to be something that local authority building control are sticklers for whilst private inspectors just let it go in my experience.
