If i have 3 cash back credit cards from different providers each providing say 1% cashback, can i make an initial purchase for £1000 on card A, (get £10 cash back), pay off card A with card B (another £10 cashback), pay off card B with card C (get £10 cash back), finally pay off card C with my debit card.

In total that would be £30 or 3% cash back. Would that work ?

The best you could do is a balance transfer and that won't attract cashback.

Lenders typically won't allow for credit card bills to be paid off using other credit cards - only debit cards or bank transfers, so this is unlikely to work. If it did work, I'm sure it would eventually be widely published, and then promptly patched as the card companies wouldn't be happy to be taken to the cleaners by all the people taking advantage of the loopholes.

Paying an Asda cc with a Nationwide cc did result in cash back from both providers. Not sure if this is still possible.

Generally no, and if you do find a way, I'd suggest keeping it quiet, as once loopholes are exposed, they tend to be closed, if you get my drift.
