Quantum Storage Heater Woes

I've recently moved into a rented flat where two QM150 heaters (the ones with the LCD display) have been fitted in the living and dining room. They are newly installed and I am the first to use them. The problem I'm having is that I can get absolutely no heat from either, except on the boost setting, which is not cost effective. I don't know where I'm going wrong. I have tried the 'out all day' and 'home all day' settings, but to no avail. I have never used this type of heating before, so don't fully understand how the heaters charge. I have left them plugged in all night, and have turned the setting up to 26 and left them, as advised by the Dimplex website, but still no heat when it turns on in the morning. They both blow cold air.
Can someone possibly take me step by step through the procedure of charging the heaters in order to produce some heat, as I figure I must not be setting it correctly?
Thanks.

I wonder if they aren't sensing that the nights are too warm to take a charge at the moment. My storage heaters certainly don't at the moment.

If they are storage heaters they work by heating up bricks overnight and they use off-peak electricty, typically economy7 or similar. First place I'd look is the is the elecricity supply cupboard to see if there is a switch for off-peak, then to make sure the meter is actually an economy7 as the system ususally works by supplying a separate circuit for storage heaters and/or immeresion heater.
  • Thanks for the replies. Have solved...the fuse switches for the storage heaters where off!

Well done and thanks for posting back to let other posters know.
  • Hi there
I have the exact same problem as Dayzie if anyone can assist.
What I can’t understand is that it was down to the fuses as remedying the issue. How could he have made all those changes to the settings if the fuses were isolating the electricity supply. Yes, there is a small battery but this just controls the clock and doesn’t power the LCD which will be unreadable and therefore unchangeable without power.

They must have a separate supply for the display that is on 24/7, it wouldn't be much use if the display worked on economy 7!
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.
  • Hi everyone, got a phone call a few hours ago from Blue Rock services, saying they are acting for a company who intend to bid for IAG (British Airways) who will pay between £7 to £15 per share, but I need to sign up now to get this price as it is only open until they get 50% of the shares. Sounds like a scam, has anyone any knowledge of this event?
